Quick answers

Is Celerp free?

Yes. The desktop app is free for business use: no trial, no per-user fee and no limits on companies, users, items or records. The core is source-available and the modules are MIT-licensed.

Does it work offline, and can I self-host it?

Yes. Celerp runs on your own computer and works offline: the core product needs no internet connection. You can also self-host it on an office or cloud server, so the database stays on hardware you control.

What does Celerp cover?

Inventory, invoicing, purchasing, double-entry accounting, CRM, manufacturing with bills of materials, and reporting, all sharing one set of data.

Which industries is it built for?

It ships with presets for retail and e-commerce, jewelry, gemstones, watches, coins, fashion, cosmetics, food and beverage, wine and spirits, agriculture, electronics, auto parts, hardware, furniture, books and media, art, manufacturing, consulting, SaaS and software, and nonprofits, clubs and associations.

What does Celerp Connect cost?

$29 a month or $290 a year for your whole setup, never per user, with a 14-day free trial. Connect adds store and accounting sync, remote access, 100 included AI queries and encrypted cloud backups. The desktop app works fully without it.

Updated for version 2.7.0 on 19 October 2026.

Why clubs and nonprofits outgrow spreadsheets

Dues live in one sheet and gifts in another, and at year end the treasurer reconciles both by hand.

📅

Renewals slip through

Each membership is an annual agreement with its own renewal date. Celerp shows who is current, who is in their grace period and who has lapsed, and bills each renewal when it falls due.

🎁

Gifts get mixed up with dues

Dues, event tickets and donations can share one invoice, and each line posts to its own income account. Donor histories count only the gifts you received and kept, so refunds and chargebacks drop out.

🔒

Restricted money gets spent twice

Turn on funds and every journal line carries one: unrestricted, or a named restricted fund. Money leaves a restricted fund only through a recorded release or reallocation. The fund report reconciles to the books.

👪

The member and the payer are different people

A parent pays for a junior member. An employer pays for its staff. Celerp keeps the member and the payer as separate contacts on the same membership.

Questions nonprofits and clubs ask

Is Celerp really free for a nonprofit or club?

Yes. The app is free to use for any number of members, donors and invoices, with a source-available core and open-source modules. Celerp Connect is optional, at $29 a month, for sync, remote access, an AI assistant and backups.

Are donor statements tax receipts?

No. A donor statement lists the gifts a donor gave and you received. What an official receipt must say depends on your country's rules, so check with your accountant before you use a statement as one.

Can it keep restricted grants separate?

Yes. Turn on funds in the accounting settings and every journal line carries a fund. Spending from a restricted fund is backed by a release that records its reason, and the fund report reconciles to the ledger.

Can a parent or an employer pay for someone else's membership?

Yes. Each membership names the member and the payer separately. The invoice goes to the payer, and the membership stays with the member.

Is our member data private?

Yes. Celerp runs on your own computer or server, so member and donor records stay with you. Nothing is stored on our servers unless you turn on Connect backups, which are encrypted.
